Our Mission
NAMA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, non-political, educational, and secular organization committed to fostering and promoting social, cultural, educational heritages of the people of Manipur in North America and to defend any just cause that affects the people and the community we live in. We connect, empower, and uplift the Manipur diaspora in North America while maintaining strong ties with our roots in Manipur.
Through cultural preservation, youth engagement, humanitarian outreach, and community development, we strive to create opportunities that promote growth and positive impact—both within our diaspora and in underserved communities in Manipur and without borders. We actively engage with youth so that future generations may carry forward our legacy and contribute to our community. We bridge connections, nurture futures, and transform lives.
Our Activities
NAMA is more than just an organization—it’s a home away from home for the Manipur diaspora in North America. Rooted in a spirit of togetherness, NAMA is dedicated to preserving the beauty of Manipur’s cultural, educational, and social heritage. We actively engage with the youth, organize cultural events, and champion humanitarian efforts.
One of our most cherished traditions is the annual NAMA convention—a vibrant gathering of stories, traditions, and aspirations. The convention—usually held during the July 4th weekend—is a celebration of unity and cultural pride.
Through NAMA, we weave together the threads of tradition, identity, and progress. We strive to inspire hope, nurture pride in our heritage, and create opportunities to give back meaningfully. Whether it’s through cultural programs, educational initiatives, or humanitarian work, we are committed to making a positive impact both in North America and in Manipur.
We invite you to join us—whether as a member, a supporter, or a friend—and become part of this beautiful journey of connection and care. Together, we can honor the past, celebrate the present, and build a brighter future.
